July 23 - 27: Intermediate Drawing Drawing is a fundamental, and often overlooked, component of art. Some see it just as a gateway for a more advanced representation of art than a foundation. For me, drawing was what made me fall in love with the art world. Join us in this week long course while we focus on experimenting with different mediums and concepts to create and reflect the world around us. I’m sure you will fall in love with drawing all over again! |

July 30 - August 3: Mosaic Medley Get ready to be hands on as we work on creating an image or design out of fragments of tiles, porcelain, glass and other miscellaneous items. We will be practicing our knowledge of design, shape, color, and pattern along with learning the basics of constructing a mosaic! This will be an educational, fun and tactile project you will love to show off when you are done! |

August 6 - 10: Creative Canvas Collage Want to have fun and let your imagination run free in a non-judgmental environment? Then come join us for a week of dabbling with mixed media as we create layers of collage onto our 12x12 wooden canvas! The best part of it is there’s no such thing as a mistake! If you don’t like something you did, you can just keep adding to it, or cover it up until you do! We will be learning to let go of some of the things we were told not to do in the art world, as we open a new door to seeing and using anything around you as a potential piece in your collage, such as paint, fabric, pictures, junk, magazine clippings, leaves, beads, yarn, and much more! At the end of this class you will be surprised by how much fun you had and how happy you are with your one-of-a-kind collage! |

August 13 - 17: Intermediate Watercolor Watercolor is a medium that at times can make you feel like it has a mind of its own, resulting sometimes in an ingenious addition to your painting, and at other times not so much. Learn to help manipulate your paintings with the techniques shown in this course. From wet-on-wet to masking to rock salt, come and learn how to add textures to your paintings. We will apply these techniques to both abstract and landscape paintings. Perfect for both beginners and skilled watercolor painters. |

August 20 - 24: Functional Art - Serving Tray & Coasters Infuse everyday life with your art! Enjoy taking this course as we take a simple serving tray and coaster set and turn it into a piece of art! It’s a great way to both display your art and entertain your family and friends. |

August 27 - 31: Printmaking with Linoleum Block Get ready to carve things up! In this exciting week we will be learning the process of designing, carving and printing with linoleum blocks. One of my favorite things about printmaking is the edition of prints, each one is an original piece, that way if you give some to your friends and family you still get to keep an original for yourself! |

All classes will be held at Seven Stars Studio 1646 SE Elliott Ave., Portland in Ladd’s Addition, near 20th and Hawthorne. |
Maximum of 8 students (ages 12 - 18 years) per class. Minimum of 2 students. |
