April 4, 5, and 7: Personal Story Tapestry Based on the Bayeux Tapestry Telling a story doesn't always mean using words or writing. With the Bayeux Tapestry for inspiration, each artist will tell a story of an important event in his or her life using only pictures. |

April 11, 12, and 14: Before a Mirror Based on Picasso's painting, "Girl Before a Mirror" Artists are always telling stories with their art. They use images and symbols, lightness and darkness, and especially color to tell the story. This week the artist will use oil pastels to create their own Picasso-inspired self-portraits as we explore ways of using color to express or invoke feelings. |

Drawing Class
Seven Stars Studio will now be offering after-school classes in representational drawing. These fun lessons are structured for success using multiple strategies for learning a variety of drawing techniques. In a supportive environment that encourages creativity, self-expression, and an appreciation for differences, the students will be improving their visual perception and visual-spatial organization skills. The students visual attention to detail will be developed as they learn how to see images as an array of component parts. Students will improve their critical thinking skills as they reflect on and revise their art work. But most of all, they will have a fabulous time drawing and learning artistic "tricks of the trade!"
